We submit your site every month to the top engines & directories.  Our special software and years of experience get you postings that normally cost much more!  Not all business categories get the best results in rankings - if you are in a highly competitive business category, we may recommend further promotion techniques to get your rankings up.  But our submission service guarantees to get you posted to many of the major engines and more!  (Note:  Many major engines get THEIR submissions from Google and DMOZ, so your inclusion in those engines gets you into MANY, MANY more!)

There are two reasons businesses ask to be posted in the search engines:

1)  They want to be listed, so if someone searches for them, they can be found.  Very simple - like the yellow pages.  It doesn't matter what your ranking is, just that you are IN there to be found if someone knows your business name or product.  Our basic package is perfect for this kind of need:  General Engine Posting.  It does not guarantee visitors, rankings or position, only that your site will be listed in the engines. MANY of our clients report results of great ranking in the engines through our posting service - but it depends greatly on how long you've been posting, how many visitors access your site through the engines and the competitive degree of your category/business type.  Our posting service is just that - posting you IN the engines and keeping you from getting PURGED.  Although results can be amazing for the cost, our only guarantee is that you will be posted and show up under a direct search of your domain name.  We do not make any promises or guarantees with regard to rank or exposure.

2)  Some businesses want to be found during a general search and need higher rankings.  This is a special kind of posting, not the general posting needed like in item number one above.  In this case, depending on your type of business, we suggest additional promotion techniques, besides just posting to the engines.  These include:  pay per click, deep promotion and subscriptions to Inktomi submission and others.  Roc Media does not provide these services.  They have gotten too complicated and your needs are best served by companies that specialize in increasing your rankings.   Currently, we know of the following services providing SITE PROMOTION on the internet in both the engines and in link sharing.  We do not have information on their service, reliability or ranking and we have not evaluated their products.

IMPORTANT GENERAL INFORMATION:

You will get greater results and higher listings with our yearly subscription!

We used to offer a "monthly" option, but too many clients would do only 2 or 4 months and then stop.  Then they would be upset when they weren't in the engines.  That's because it can take up to 6 months to see results and it takes regular monthly postings every month to STAY listed.  So we now only offer the yearly subscription and our clients are very happy with the results.

When we register your site with a search engine, the search bots go out and "spider" your site - making sure it is acceptable for the engine (good code, meta tags, not sexually explicit, etc.). Then it takes anywhere from instantly to 60-90 days, depending on the engine, for them to put you in their database. Your position there depends on your meta tags (which we can create or change for you for a fee, if you wish), how your site is registered and how much access your site gets from their engine. Every month, most of the engines PURGE any sites that are below a "certain" activity level - whatever that is to them, and your site is no longer in their database.  That's why we charge a yearly resubmission registration for sites that wish to remain active in the search engines, and we repost you into all the engines EVERY month.

In either case, your keywords are very important!  Submit them carefully and review them every 6 months or so and add or delete some to keep your site in the highest position possible.  If you did not submit keywords to your web designer, please let us know and perhaps you'll want us to add keywords to your meta tags for you!

We have found a rare instance when a web site cannot be added to the engines.  Sometimes it's content related or it might be that someone tried to over-post it before we were hired or we might not know why.  One instance when this happened to us was caused because it was a one-page site and didn't have enough content or use of its own keywords to be accepted by the engines.  We changed that by adding content and it was eventually posted to the engines.  Because it appears it is POSSIBLE that a site may not be accepted by the engines, we offer the following guarantee:  If we are not able to get your website listed so it shows up in at least 3 of the major engines listed on our list in the first 3 months, we will refund your money at your request.  Of course over time you should be appearing in MANY of the engines - but if for some reason we have trouble in the first three months of trying and can't get your site posted, we will refund your money in full, regardless of our time spent to register you.  (If we charged you for any website design work, that would be a separate issue and is NOT subject to a refund.)
